S35VN Blade: The Ultimate in Performance

Although our standard blades' 440C is no slouch of a steel, S35VN is a premium steel preferred by many knife enthusiasts. S35VN is a high-performance stainless steel that is known for its excellent edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. It is a modified version of S30V, which is a popular choice for knife blades. S35VN has been improved by adding niobium, which helps to create a finer carbide structure. This results in a blade that is harder and more wear-resistant than S30V.

Features:

  • Excellent edge retention
  • Toughness
  • Corrosion resistance
  • High hardness
  • Fine carbide structure
  • Durable and long-lasting

S35VN is the perfect choice for anyone who needs a blade that can perform at the highest level. Order yours today and experience the difference.

Here are some additional benefits of using an S35VN blade:

  • Sharpness: S35VN blades are very sharp. This is due to the high hardness of the steel, which makes it difficult for the blade to dull.
  • Toughness: S35VN blades are very tough. This means that they can withstand a lot of wear and tear without breaking or chipping.
  • Corrosion resistance: S35VN blades are resistant to corrosion. This means that they can be used in harsh environments without rusting or corroding.

If you are looking for a blade that is sharp, tough, and corrosion-resistant, then the S35VN Blade is the perfect choice.

Stuck screws trying to install the scales

Heat will help loosen the the thread lock.

  • Heat gun aimed at the screws until they get hot
  • Blow dryer
  • Soldering iron against the screws
  • Oven or Air fryer at 250°F for a few minutes (careful, it will be hot, let it cool below 100°F or handle with heat protective gloves.
After installing scales nothing works

Most likely the pivot pin was not centered and may have been binding against the handle (hard to see when the scales are installed), or one of the screws on the pivot was tightened more than the other - this can cause the pivot to become seized to one scale. I recommend loosely tightening both sides of the pivot, making sure the pin is in both sides of the handle and centered, and then alternating 1/4 turn on each side at a time to ensure equal tension.

Tools aren't locking on 1 side

The leaf spring in the handle that works as the locking mechanism is not providing enough tension on the tools to maintain the lock.

  1. Remove the tools and D-pin pivot from that handle.
  2. Open the pliers (this provides better grip for the next steps)
  3. Pull the side tabs of the handle apart (where the pivot used to be) just enough to push the leaf spring up into the handle to increase the bend and thus the tension.
  4. Reassemble the pivot and there will not be more tension holding the tools in the handle.
1 tool isn't locking

Each of the Longer tools (or any tool placed in the outer slots) requires 1mm spacing from the side of the handle. The Hot Swap levers provide this, the Saw has a 1mm washer next to it in the default configuration, and the scissors provide their own spacing with their 2-layer design. Without the spacing, the tool will not align with the locking mechanism in the handle.

My Goat Tool Review

This review is not about the knife blade but rather the whole knife/tool.
• Outstanding customer service.
• The case is great. Can fit the knife and all spare attachments in it. You can conveniently change attachments in the field because you can carry them with you.
• Losing the screws to attach custom colored knife covers sucks. I watched the YouTube videos, but the ****'s heads or tips strip out. Some of the screws are too tight. The kit comes with extra screws, and if I wanted the screws off to put on the custom color covers, I could get them off using desperate measures and replace them with the new screws. Personally, I like the knife as is anyway. I choose functionality over looks. I do not want to add additional girth and weight to the knife to add color. So, I left the covers off.
• Love the ability to add tools to my knife as I need them. Some of the tools are not available in any other multi-tool knife. Great concept, Goat Tool!
• The knives break easily at their bases under normal use. I suggest carrying extras. I would not use this knife for survival; it is more of a weekend camping, fishing, or work tool. They may develop a way to strengthen the knives themselves for more dependable use in the future, but right now, they have a really weak point at their base, where they attach to the tool and brake easily.
• All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. Guaranteed for life, great customer service, and one-of-a-kind creativity with the exchangeable tools.

Excellent knife blade.

I love that I can have a blade in a proper knife steel in a multitool. It came sharp and fit perfectly.

Bevels were less than good... But it stays sharp decently well. No chips or anything
